Comparison
Software supply chain security pricing compared
What it costs to know what goes into the software you build and keep it monitored: published prices for the SCA, SBOM and build security tools that do that job, per developer and in total with the CI runner.
Updated
The short version
- Most tools charge per developer. At 25 developers, published licenses run from $16 to $70 per developer per month. Enterprise SCA from Black Duck, Sonatype and Endor Labs is sold by quote.
- SBOM export often needs a higher plan. Snyk exports SBOMs on Enterprise only and Socket from Business; GitHub exports the dependency graph as SPDX for free.
- CRACI has no license. It charges only for build minutes, $0.002 per vCPU-minute, and those minutes also buy the runner. On standard x64 runners that comes in below GitHub-hosted runner minutes alone.
- The scope is not the same. Several tools add SAST, secrets or malware detection. CRACI records what each build actually fetched and controls what it can reach.
Who is in this comparison
CRACI runs GitHub Actions jobs, records every package each job fetched as an SBOM, keeps those SBOMs monitored for new vulnerabilities, and enforces an egress policy on the job. This page prices the products that do part of that job for the software you build:
- SCA with SBOM export: Snyk, GitHub Code Security, Aikido, Socket, Semgrep Supply Chain, JFrog Xray and Kusari Inspector.
- SBOM management: FOSSA, and Docker Scout for container images.
- Build security: StepSecurity, which adds egress control to the runners you keep.
Left out: CI runners, which have their own price comparison; SAST-only tools; firmware and binary analysis; and hardened images such as Chainguard, which secure the inputs rather than record the build.
What each license costs per developer
Each product on the cheapest plan that includes SBOM export. Flat and tiered plans are divided by the team, so FOSSA, JFrog and Aikido get cheaper per developer as the team fills a tier. Hover over a bar for what the plan covers.
License per developer per month for a team of 25, lowest first
CRACI is $0 here: it has no license and no per-developer fee. You pay $0.002 per vCPU-minute of build time, which also buys the runner; the next chart counts it.
The total: runner minutes plus security
CRACI replaces the runner, so a fair comparison puts the runner on every side. With any other tool you keep paying for GitHub-hosted runner minutes and add the license. With CRACI you pay build minutes and nothing else. Enter your team and how many build minutes each developer uses a month; the default of 1,000 is illustrative.
Monthly cost for 25 developers and 25,000 build minutes on 2 vCPU x64, lowest first
CRACI $100 a month against $132 for GitHub-hosted runners alone: the SBOM, vulnerability monitoring and egress policy come in under what the runner minutes cost today.
Annual cost as the team grows, same build minutes per developer
At list prices, CRACI's build minutes cost about 33% less than GitHub-hosted minutes on a standard 2 vCPU x64 runner, and every product here adds a license on top of those minutes. On large ARM64 runners the balance changes: GitHub's 32-core arm64 runner lists at $0.050 a minute against CRACI's $0.064, so CRACI costs about 28% more per minute there. CRACI also runs builds about twice as fast as GitHub-hosted runners, thanks to faster hardware, shorter queue times and caching; tick the box to count it.

Products without published prices
Enterprise SCA and the supply chain security platforms mostly sell through sales, usually per contributing developer. They do the same job for the software you build, so they belong in a shortlist, but they cannot be charted.

|---|---|---|
| Black Duck | SCA across source, packages and binaries | Quote only |
| Sonatype Lifecycle and SBOM Manager | SCA and SBOM management | Quote only |
| Endor Labs | SCA with reachability, SBOM and VEX | Per contributing developer, quote only |
| Mend AppSec | SCA, SAST and containers | Up to $1,000 per developer per year |
| Anchore Enterprise | SBOM generation and management | Quote only |
| Cycode | ASPM with CI/CD security and SBOM | Quote only, by developers and AI usage |

What CRACI does not do
CRACI does not cover everything these tools do. It does not scan source code for vulnerabilities or secrets, run reachability analysis, or score packages for malware; it flags known malicious releases once an advisory exists. It runs GitHub Actions jobs on Linux, with Windows and macOS on the roadmap. If SAST or secrets scanning is on your list, plenty of good tools run alongside CRACI.
What it does instead is record the build itself. While each job runs, CRACI records every package it fetched, including packages restored from caches, and turns that into an SBOM with a stated completeness. It keeps those SBOMs monitored, lets security teams triage findings and block builds on them, and returns SBOMs, network traces and provenance through its API. How we compared
- Sources: each vendor's own pricing page or documentation, checked September 29, 2026.
- Plans: the cheapest plan that includes SBOM export, billed monthly where the vendor offers it. Snyk is charted at the published Enterprise credit rate for Snyk Open Source, one $1 credit per active contributor per day. Kusari's price is a starting price.
- Team size: developers means the vendor's own seat unit (active committer, contributing developer or user), taken as the whole team.
- Runner minutes: GitHub-hosted Linux list prices without per-job rounding, which favors GitHub slightly. CRACI at its list price of $0.002 per vCPU-minute.
- Not included: taxes, volume discounts, annual prepayment discounts, and the cost of running open-source tools such as Dependency-Track yourself.
Supply chain security pricing FAQ
Short answers on what these tools cost and what the price covers.
How much does software supply chain security cost?
For tools with published prices, from nothing to about $70 per developer per month as of September 2026. GitHub's Dependabot alerts and SBOM export are free, Semgrep Supply Chain is free for up to 10 contributors, and per-developer plans run from $16 (StepSecurity) to $50 (Socket Business). Enterprise SCA from Black Duck, Sonatype and Endor Labs is sold by quote.
How is CRACI priced?
CRACI charges only for build minutes: $0.002 per vCPU-minute ($0.004 for a default 2 vCPU runner), metered per second, with no monthly fee, no per-developer fee and no per-SBOM charge. The build minutes pay for the runner as well, because CRACI replaces the GitHub Actions runner.
Why does the comparison include runner minutes?
Because CRACI is the runner. With any other tool on this page you keep paying for GitHub-hosted runner minutes and add the license on top. Comparing CRACI's build minutes with a license alone would leave out the runner bill CRACI replaces.
Which plan do you need for SBOM export?
It varies. Snyk exports SBOMs on Enterprise only, Socket from Business, Aikido from Basic, and FOSSA, Semgrep and JFrog Xray on the plans charted here. GitHub exports the dependency graph as SPDX on every plan. CRACI records an SBOM in every build it runs.
What do the other tools do that CRACI does not?
SAST, secrets scanning, reachability analysis and malicious-package reputation, among others. Aikido, Snyk, Semgrep and GitHub Code Security scan source code; Socket and Aikido block malicious packages. CRACI flags known malicious releases that have an advisory, but does not score packages for malware. It runs GitHub Actions jobs on Linux.
